Hi, I now live in US and filed my taxes for the last assessment year. I paid close to 2 Lakh rupees in self assessment taxes taxes since i lived in India more than 182 days before moving to US, and as you know tax rate in US is lower than in India.

I had received an intimation of my ITR transferred to the local assessing officer last month stating "Credits for tax payments made outside India claimed in the return, which can not be verified by CPC." On this i have the following questions

a) On these transfer cases, can I view the status of my return online on the incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website?

b) In case the assessing officer needs further documents, will the assessing officer ask for documents over e-mail in the ITR. Also, I had mentioned my US address in ITR (God, I hope he doesn't need me in India, I don't have anyone in the city anymore where i lived)

Regards,

Anjali
