According to circular 9/2015 dated 9/6/2015 IT returns for 6 previous assesment years can be filed.

So if some one has received compliance notice for AY 2013-14 for which returns were not filed and now it cannot be fileed due to 2 years over, after this circular, can this be filed?

I am not an accounts man. I am an enginner designing Bridges.

Some Tax experts please reply if a revised IT return can be filed.

As per Circular no. 9 issued by the Department in the year 2015 only returns where there is a refund claim/carry forward of loss can be filed for six previous years subject to the conditions laid out in the said circular. For other cases there is no scope of filing the return for a period of more than 2 previous years.
