02 November 2009Today I read in an article sent by CACLUBINDIA mentioning that now on 26AS DB the tax refund information is also available. Earlier refund was sent by cheque by IT department. So, to get the refund should I mention my A/C details while filing the return? It seems that IT department plans to send refund by ECS. Kindly suggest. Thanking you in advance, RAKESH

Ofcoarse, u'll have to fill the bank details of the client,
especially "MICR" code of that particular bank...

Yes Mr. Jain, for refund you must fill the bank account details, it will be send directly to your account by way of ECS, if they send Cheque / DD they mention account no. along with name of assessee..

Thanks for your replies. So, this information is to be filled in ITR form which should be providing relevant columns for it? Sorry for asking this obvious question as I will be filing the return first time. So far my CA was filing the return. Best regards, RAKESH

you may also choose for cheque ..... In our town MICR code is not still available for banks... that's why we are choosing cheque option..... but i think, it is compuslorily put MICR code of banks in cities....

Sorry, seems I did not make clear in my last post. I just wanted to ask, do ITR forms provide proper columns to fill bank details, MICR code, account detail etc? Where can I get a copy of ITR forms (I know TIN-NSDL system will present a copy of ITR form to fill it but I want to see an ITR form to understand what needs to be filled in an ITR form). Thank you. Yes There are certain column where you have to mention MICR Code A/c No. etc.
here is the text from ITR-1, i think this is available in all ITR form
