Last financial year, I didn't work at all. The expenses are from my savings which are already shown in my previous taxation. Now, do I need to file my returns with zero income?

Yes, you can file belated ... Income Tax (nil income) Return for financial year 2015-16....... u/s. 139(4)... till end of March, 2018.
