is Service Tax applicable for translation services

I am wkg for a translation services company (pvt.ltd co) and would like to know if service tax is applicable on translation services.  Can anyone tell me / send some doc that service tax is applicable or not?

Dear Vani,

Yes the translation services in relation to busuienss would come under business support services more specifically transaction processing. Applicable from start if exceeding Rs. 10 Lakhs of taxable services provided in the pr yr. If not then in the current year upto rs 10 Lkahs exempt under Not.6/2005 and taxable thereafter.
