Hi

Mr. ABC donates a certain amount of money to XYZ Trust.

XYZ Trust is registered for 80G.

Can XYZ Trust insist from the donor Mr. ABC to provide his income tax PAN if he wants 80G receipt for donation made by him to XYZ Trust?

Is there any such provision in the act or rules or any such notification or circular that mandates the donor to provide his IT PAN to the donee trust if he wants 80G receipt?

Is it possible that the department has specifically asked any trust at the time of giving exemption to mandatorily obtain PAN from donors?

Yes, it is necessary to provide PAN since to the corpus you are donating need to maintain the source of such funds else anonymus donations received by the Trust are taxable.
