Letter from Income tax officer

My friend is in Crane Business and he has receive letter from Income Tax Officer regarding non filing of ITR for F.Y. 2012-13. in which they have mentioned some TDS deducted by others. I want to know whether it is possible to file return for F.Y.2012-13. if yes then how and if no then whether the letter received from Income Tax Officer is valid.

the moment you dont consume ur tax credits - It dept will have doubts.

In response to notice file IT return for AY 2013-14 .Show that tax liability is zero and claim TDS and seek refund.

Mr Suleman,

I will suggest you write a letter to your AO in details and prove him that you fall within 180000 slab. So No tax liability. that's why you have not filed your IT return.

Check with 26AS for the relevant AY. Reconcile receipt and compute the tax using appicable rates. Claim refund if lesser than basic slab.

But I want to know as it is time barred then how can I file return. Plz suggest me the solution.whether I can file the return online or there is some other way.
