Dear members,

I work for an IT company and was sent by my company to work in the United Kindom for most of the months last year April 2015- March 2016. For the previous years I was in India

I was in India for less than 60 days including visits to family. I am now back in India.

I am now filing my returns via ITR2 form. I would just like to confirm my understanding of the law.

1. Since I was out of India for more than 182days I am a NRI. Therefore, resident status on the form should be NRI

2. Only my India income for the period of around 60 days + bank interest etc is taxable and to be declared in the ITR form. THis income was taxed in the UK.

3. No mention is to be made on the ITR form of the income + allowances earned abroad as I was a NRI as per resident status.

4 No mention of the foreign bank account as well since my resident status was NRI. These fields are disabled in the form as well.

Thank you for your help in confirming my understanding.
