30 July 2014my father is a senior citizen. his income is only from fixed deposits , we had given form 15 h so no tds was deducted...on filing returns today i saw tht slab had exceed 2.5 lac slightly , the tax payable is only 1400/- . what do i do now...do i fill the etax with advance tax or self assesment tax. ...plz guide me on how i shud proceed with this.

if he is senior citizen then for ay 15-16 u can get 3,00,000 as slab rate.
bt u asking for which ay 14-15?

then go to any nationalised bank and pay self asseesment tax and not advance tax

also can i pay online the challan ? the income tax site has an option https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp plus banks like axis,sbi ,icici too have the option to pay tax online...or in this case is it mandatory todo in in bank itself and not online
