can anyone suggest what would be the impact of gst on health care units just like hospitals ..
we are dealing in elevators business one of hospital have given declaration that they are exempt from paying gst and hence should not charge gst when supply of elevators ..
I want to know that it is the right ?
Even If a recipient of service is exempt from GST it can not ask supplier to not charge GST on its supply invoice if the supplier is otherwise liable to pay GST.
Exempt recipient can not take input credit so the tax charged by you will become cost for the hospital.
In your case if you are a registered person and the item you are dealing in is not exempt, you have to charge tax on your supplies.
