It has been made to understand that the students seeking enrolment for appearing in December`07 session onwards of CS Intermediate Examination, besides producing a certificate from the head of the Coaching Administration in support of having undergone satisfactorily a course of Postal or Oral Coaching; are also required to successfully complete the Compulsory Computer Training program.

In an exclusive arrangement, Asia's IT Training leader, APTECH will train students and members of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the apex body governing the Company Secretaries in the country.

APTECH will offer a specially designed program at select APTECH Centers across the country.

The program
Called "Understanding Information Technology in the Corporate Environment," the task-oriented special program will train students and existing members of ICSI on high-end personal computing skills.

Some of the salient features of the offering include the following:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on Computer Training Programme for being conducted by APTECH for the Students and Members of the ICSI.  
     
  1) What is the Course Name?   
  Ans: “Understanding Information Technology in Corporate Environment”.  
     
  2) Who are conducting this course?  
  Ans: "On behalf of ICSI, APTECH is authorised to conduct the course on all India basis.  
     
  3) Where are the APTECH Centers?  
  Ans: The list of cities where APTECH center is available is uploaded on the website of the Institute. The list can also be received directly through this link

  4) What is the Eligibility to join this course?  
  Ans: The course is open for all the students and members of the ICSI. But completing the course is compulsory for the Executive program Company Secretary-ship students only before they enroll for any group(s) of the Intermediate/Executive program Company Secretary-ship examination.  
     
  5) What Does the Course content Include?  
  Ans: The course content is given below:

  6) What is the duration of Course?  
  Ans: The course shall be of 70 (Seventy) hours duration. Students / members must undergo the said course from APTECH for a minimum period of 70 (Seventy) hours. The student should not appear for the final online test before completing the minimum training period prescribed. He/She has to complete training uninterruptedly.  
     
  7) What is the fee for the ICSI-APTECH Computer Course?  
  Ans: Fee for undergoing the ICSI-Aptech Computer course shall remain same for all students except the students belonging to SC/ST category, who shall be given concession of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) on the course fee.

Rate chargeable from student is Rs.3,000.00( for General Category), Rs.2,500.00 for SC / ST Category

Note:
Service Tax and bank charges as per the GOI rules as applicable from time to time shall be payable by the student. Present rate of Service Tax @ 10.3%. All payments will be online or by credit / debit card or by demand draft (nationalized bank only)
 
     
  8) Who is exempted from this training?   
  Ans: A student shall be exempted from undergoing the ICSI -APTECH Computer course if he / she fulfill the following criteria’s:
He/She has successfully completed one or more computer course(s) from any institution and has produced a certificate of having successfully completed such course(s).
 
     
  9) What is online exemption test and How to approach for online exemption test?  
  Ans: To appear for the online exemption test as a part of claiming exemption from undergoing the course, a student has to submit the declaration for computer course completion certificate thru Courier along with DD. He/She has also to attach the scanned copy of the certificate. To enroll for the online exemption test he /she has to pay the fee and select the date and timing for the online test at the Aptech testing center. The same will be approved by Aptech Mumbai after verification of certificate & payment. All further communications with the student will be thru email provided during enrollment.  
     
  10) What is the fee for online exemption test?  
  Ans: For undergoing the Online Exemption Test: Only Students can be enrolled for the online exemption test.  
  Rate chargeable from student Rs.450.00 (Fee for all Students)

Note:
1. Service Tax and bank charges as per the GOI rules as applicable from time to time shall be payable by the student.
2. Student has to appear for the online exemption test from the respective Aptech Testing Center, which will be allocated to him/her. All payments will be made online or credit / debit card or by demand draft (nationalized banks only).
 
     
  11) How many attempts will be provided for online exemption test against the fee submitted by him for the same?  
  Ans: 2 (Two) attempts will be allowed for the student to clear the online exemption test within a period of 30 (thirty) days against the fees of Rs.450/- (Service Tax extra on actual), which will be paid by the student during the enrollment for online exemption test. In case the student is not able to clear the online exemption test in the given two attempts within a period of 30 (thirty) days, then he / she can re-enroll for the online exemption test by paying the complete fees once again.
   
  12) What is the Criteria for obtaining Computer Coaching Completion Certificate?
  Ans: Aptech shall carry out 70 (seventy) hours of computer training as per the detailed course contents and topic wise time duration as mentioned above. At the end of the training, each student shall be required to pass an online test to be conducted by Aptech. Pass marks in the online test shall be 40% (forty percent). A student / member shall be required to have minimum 90 % (Ninty percent) attendance. The students to secure the requisite attendance should adopt no unfair means. After undergoing the training for the specified duration, a student shall become eligible for the final online test only if he/she fulfills the following criteria:

1. 90 % (ninety percent) attendance
2. Clear milestone of the course
3.Full fee is paid.

Once a student becomes eligible, he/she shall be allowed to appear for the online test, which shall comprise of:

1. Objective type questions.
2. 80 minutes duration.

On the day of the test, the student shall be required to go to the respective Aptech Center which he / she has enrolled online, at the scheduled date and time and take the exam on-line. A student shall not be allowed to exceed the allotted time. No break will be given during the examination. Evaluation of the test shall be done online.

A student / member undergoing the course from Aptech center shall be provided with maximum 5 (five) attempts to clear the test and successfully complete the course. But in case the student / member is not able to clear the test even on fifth attempt, he / she shall have to pay for the further attempts as per the guidelines and fees defined for the students / members appearing for the online exemption test.

Certificate of successful completion of the course will be given to the students duly signed by ICSI & Aptech or Certificate of exemption for the students taking test alone will be sent by mail to the successful student.
   
   13) What should a student do incase of any complaints on operational issues relating to product delivery in any center of APTECH?
  Ans: For any complaint on operational issues relating to product delivery in any center of APTECH, please log on to the web site with your enrollment No & password and select "Register complaint" then you can register your complaint & you will get a docket No.

   14) What are the minimum number of students for the batch to be initiated in APTECH ?
  Ans: The minimum batch size in all centers in major cities will be 12 (twelve) at major cities and 8 (eight) to 10 (ten) at other locations
APTECH will ensure that the batch is immediately started as and when the minimum enrollment is achieved. In case the required minimum number of students is not available, APTECH shall not defer the commencement of the batch indefinitely and in any case not beyond (3) three months.
   
   15) If I have to take a test from the location out of India, how to do it?
  Ans: The student has to pay "Online". The student has to select "International " from the center list .Then we will schedule the test directly from Aptech Mumbai .
   
   16) Brief for students about admission process:
  Ans: Once the student accesses the web interface (ICSI Aptech Ltd.) s/he needs to enter his/her enrolment number and his/her date of birth in the logins provided.

A password will be generated, which s/he needs to remember and keep for future reference.

The student then returns to the home page and enters with his/her log in id (enrolment number) and password. He/she enrolls for certification.

Here s/he is allowed to select the options of training and testing or testing only. He/she also has the option of selecting the state / city and the payment mode. He then proceeds as prompted to submit. The student must ensure that in case of demand draft (DD) payment the DD must be dispatched to Aptech Ltd. Mumbai.

In case s/he has any query s/he can select the register complaints and enter his/her query in the text box provided. This will be responded by Aptech in 2 working days.

In case a student goes to the center directly with the DD for training, the DD should be collected by the center. At the center the Business partner (BP) helps the student to register online through his (student’s) id through the web interface. Then the process is initiated. The student must ensure that the DD is sent to Aptech Ltd., Mumbai (as indicated).

Hey!

I do have a doubt..  I hav already registered for NIIT exam... And I am going to give exam yet! So,is it valid for my Computer Coaching Certificate?! Or should I also take up ICSI-Aptech exemption test!?
