ICAI – Opportunity for Skilled Translators

Opportunity for Skilled Translators (Hindi) to translate all Converged Accounting Standards (ASs) in Hindi in the project of the Accounting Standards Board (ASB). The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), an apex premier Accounting professional body set up by an Act of Parliament, has set up the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) for formulating the Accounting Standards. 

To converge with International Accounting Standards, ASB, has taken up the initiative of preparing Indian Accounting Standards converged with International Accounting Standards (IASs)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), which will be implemented in India, in a phased manner, from April 01, 2011. In view of this, Accounting Standards Board requires competent translators, possessing excellent skills for accomplishment of tasks associated with the project of Hindi translation of the converged Indian Accounting Standards.

Key Skills required:
Command on translation from Hindi to English and Vice-Versa;
Expertise Knowledge and understanding of Hindi terminologies, specifically, Accounting and allied areas;
Strong-grammatical skills both in Hindi & English;
Proofreading and editing.

Education/Qualifications & other requirements:
CA or CA (inter.)/ M.Com regular from a reputed institution, with keen interest in Accounting Standards with minimum of 3 years of experience of using Accounting Standards academically or professionally;

Candidates with Post-Graduation/Graduation from reputed institution in the subject of Hindi with minimum of 3 years of experience in translation.

Desirable
Candidates with Diploma or advance diploma in Hindi translation will be preferred.
Candidates with higher qualification will be preferred.

Duration of the project & remuneration:

As the project is of a high importance and will be completed in a stipulated time period. Therefore, time bound work will be expected from the candidates.

Remuneration will not be a constraint for meritorious candidates and will be commensurate with experience and ability to perform.
