How to start again ?( 8th time I Am going to attempt(Audit&ITSM)

hi friends.. Please tell me how to prepare for Audit&ITSM for MAY 2017 exams. This is my 8 th attempt...I don't know where I am lacking in preparation.. every attempt I failed just by 10 marks around. Please provide me Subjects wise& topic wise guidance and also tell me how can I effectively utilize these 50 days time . (Waiting for your valuable tips)

ICAI for ITSM, Surabi Bansal mam book for audit

If u want good score in audit then u must have good knowledge of SA.. mostly case studies is related to SA.In ITSM u have to cover all important chapter .Do practical manual and Rtp for conceptual clarity.

Please don't lose hope and try your level best. Study from the best books will surely help you to prepare for your exam.

The best recommended book for CA IPCC Audit is SURBHI BANSAL and for ITSM you should refer the book of CA DEEPAK SAINI.

These are the best books for self study for CA IPCC.

ICAI material is not user friendly. Keep one revision book for ITSM. Try Manish Valechha ITSM textbook (Best seller of CA Final ISCA). It is mnemonic based and easy to learn and remember..

it would have been better if you could get your answer paper so that you can understand the pitfalls by comparing with suggested answer and study material... your presentation or content may have something which you to correct... apart from the knowledge please check these areas also...all the best..

According to me you should prefer to prepare a set of handwritten notes for your own understanding.Read specific topic make a note of statements that is memorable and understandable by you.Revise the same regularly and do not refer original books...

Hi Sudhakar,

Since you have not mentioned your passing status on advanced accounts, I am assuming that it is also pending.

Starting today you have approximately 48 days before examination.

Here is the strategy that can be helpful to you.

1. From today till 20th of April, focus on auditing and ITSM. While doing that keep following points/strategy in mind.

a. Don't reserve full day for studying ITSM. Many people dont find themselves comfortable and end up under-utilising their time.

b. Keep 2 sessions of 2 hours each in morning and evening respectively for ITSM. Focus on completeing 5-7 questions in each sessions and thereby you will be completing 10-14 questions a day. Continue doing so till 5th May and you will be done with your ITSM syllabus comfortably.

c. Rest of the time you can accupy yourself for auditing. You can complete and revise it twice easily in this much time frame.

2. From 21st April till exam date, start focusing on accounts. Since you have already studied everything this much time is enough for completeing and revising it once.

Other tips and tricks.

1. Use countdown timer while studying. Set up the time you want to study continously, lets say 45 minutes. and decide the pages or topic you want to cover in that time.Set the timer and start reading. This is the most important trick I can give. It will keep you on toes and your focus will not be deviated.

2. Give mock test. It will help you in anlyzing the mistakes you are making and you can improve upon it.

Thank you sir, I have exemption in ac's . I am not able to focus continuesly for this theory papers. And also I don't know why I am getting around 35 marks in each attempt . (Last attempt 35 in Audit& 42 in ITSM....and in may 16 attempt 54 in audit,34 in ITSM) ... loosing by few marks😥

Hi Sudhakar.

I am not sure what can be your reason for not clearing audit and ITSM but I am pretty sure that you are lacking something otherwise this should not be a case.

I would advice you to start giving mock test and see your performance on regular basis and do the necessary improvements.

Apart from this ensure that you are reading recent study material, ammendments,RTPs and PMs.

Its ultimately you who have to figure out the problem first and then its solution.

Ok sir, I am not able to remember the Language what I read but I know the subject conceptually but when it comes to presentation I am not able to recall that TECHNICAL WORDS both in Audit&Itsm. Hope you can resolve my problem( Expecting some General preparation tips)... sorry for the disturbance

Hi Sudhakar.

To be honest it is not an acceptable issue that you foget the technical words or cannot do present even after 7 attempts.

Having said that, here are the following tips or tricks that you can use.

IT/SM

- 2 hours session each in morning and evening. Make notes on the technical words you come across chapter wise. Every weekend revise those things. Keep your Sunday for this thing only.

- Start preparing mnemonics for answers to remember then easily at a later point of time. Manish Velachhe is there with the ready made mnemonics. You can buy that. Revise the mnemonics on Sunday along with technical words.

Audit

- Prepare list of SAs and remember them by name and number. Quote the relevant SAs in your answers. Also quote relavent sections from companies Act whereever applicable.

- For procedural questions, prepare mnemonics.

- Prepare small notes for all the chapters(5-10 pages per chapter) to revise them on the day of the exam.

Use countdown timer while studying. I completely understand that reading theory continously will be boring but timer will help you achiecve this objective.

I also agree with the above suggestion.... daily two sessions exclusively for audit and itsm.... prepare own notes for itsm.... study audit by writing... writing only will help you.... to remember those technical words.... if you have time to order and buy the book seven laws of clearing ca... a book by ca nitin soni...and then read the chapter the law of retention... only 20 pages in that chapter... rs 100 for book in amazon... I feel the technique detailed there will help you to recollect the dead theory.... if not interested to spend on a book now you should follow the practice of writing and studying...you need speed in practical papers.... be patient with theory... read with understanding.... dont read in haste or hurry .... make sure that you understand what you are reading for atleast first few pages of the reading.... dont try to memorise at once... slow and purposeful reading will take care of your memory.... try it... it is very very effective and the base of learning....
