How to response ao for notice u/s 143(1)a

Mr. ABC has filed manual return for AY 2011-12, and while filing such return he forgot to mention TDS details. He received demand notice u/s 1431a.

please help : how to response AO regarding this?

do he has to furnish return for AY 2011-12 again with the correction made?

1) See whether the 26AS statement is updated - down load from traces or efiling website

2) Write a letter to your AO attaching the 26AS and request him/her to rectify the return taking all credits. Thats it

3) those who have filed return online -should rectify online with option a - tax credit mismatch. There are 10 rows each for TDS, TCS and TI to fill and/or correct.

Beyond which you have to make application to AO to rectify.

Normally, since the error was on your end, you would have been required to file a revised return. But since, the return is tmed barred, the only option is to approach the Assessing officer with a rectification request along with all necessary proofs of TDS.
