How to exchange torn or soiled currency notes?

It is not uncommon to get torn or soiled notes. Some are even cut in the corners or cut in the center but intelligently joined with the help of cello tapes. Normally we will find these notes in our pocket when we seek change from retail shops and restaurants. Don’t forget even the bus conductors and auto drivers will pass on torn or mutilated notes!

 

So what do we do? Try and push this note to someone else, so simple it is! We try and fold the note to hide the torn side. If the vendor accepts this note, we will feel so much relieved. If the note is of 500 or 1000 denomination then our job gets multiplied.

 

Actually, exchanging torn notes is not a big deal
