At last finally ICAI has made an official announcement that the provisions relating to Direct Entry Scheme for Graduates/Post Graduates, etc., with prescribed percentage of marks, to the Chartered Accountancy Course have come into force from August 1, 2012.  Please download the attached file for the same.

PLS HELP ME TO CLARIFY MY.....

I AM A STUDENT WHO HAVE CLEARED IPCC GP2 AND A FIRST CLASS BCOM GRADUATE......MAY I GO FOR ARTICLESHIP NOW.................I HV WRITTEN IPCC GP1.....IN MAY 12 EXAM RESULTS ARE YET TO COME......IF SUPPOSE I DON CLEAR THEN NOW AM I OFFICIALLY ALLOWED TO JOIN ARTICLESHIP......

"A candidate who is a graduate or post graduate and has been exempted from passing the Common Proficiency Test shall be eligible to three years of articles training on his registration to the Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course.”
 
But you were not exempted from CPT as you have already completed your CPT and you are into your IPCC now. So as per my interpretation, you are required to clear your IPCC Group I in order to commence your Articleship. (However, it is advisable to put your query @ www.icai.org/help).

Srikanth, why cant anoop cancel the existing registration with ICAI and make new registration on degree, for going direct article.

how wil i cancel my registration I HAVE CLEARED GP2 IN MAY11 AND I HAD GOT 196 IN GP1 IN LAST ATTEMPT......SO I AM COMPLETELY CONFUSED ABOUT MYSELF NOW

hi i Have passed bcom with 51.5 percent i want to know whether the commerce graduates above 50 percent in commerce stream are exempted from cpt course please provide me the reply

@ Prashant no you are not exempt from appearing in CPT as the prescribed % for exemption is 55%in bcom

and you scored 51.5%

the rule of 55 percent is not new one it is already in force for the last one year . what is the new rule of excemption i want to know

There Institute has made a proposal for the said notification in the last year, which has now actually come into force.
