Hi Prathik,
Direct Taxes - Vinod Gupta (Its very exhaustive and self explanatory book -summary module is very useful for revision)
Indirect Taxes - Bangar (make sure, you prepare your own notes which will be useful at the time of revision)
Both these books,need good time for preparation, so better start early.

Dear Pratik,
For IDT Bangar is the best book and also refer Inst.'s Supplimentary and latest RTP
For DT Vinod Gupta isthe best book and also refer Inst.'s Supplimetary and latest RTP.
My humble advise to you that do not skip Institute's Supplimentary and latest RTP. If you cannot complete your whole Reference book, don't worry. But, complete Supplimentary and RTP first. Minimum 30-40 marks questions are asked from this materials in each DT and IDT paper.
