My client is paying taxes for me. Is it necessary to ask me form 16 from his side to file my return.

Yes. On demand, your client will provide you . For online filing it is not necessary. However for the recordical you may ask him to give. It is general practice exists. You please check 26AS i.e.tax credit on your account by log in in incometaindia.gov.in for the confirmation whether party has deposited the amount promptly in your account.
