Our retail market isnt doing good either....in automobile industry and telecommunication industry we have already seen that domestic players are way behind....if u have 15lacs rupees to buy a car..u will never buy a car made by mahindra or tata..u will go for honda civic....juss coz of a better quality....same in retail..its the fault and lack lustre behaviour of the domestic retailers..they didnt upgrade themsleves..they still belive that INDIA is in 1970s....its a modern era..to become a globalised economy we have to change..my vote for FDI in retail....and it will create so many job opportunities too

and small buisnessmen wont have to shut their buisness....did the small buisnessmen shut their business after malls like shopperstop,pantaloons,etc came up???? In india the gap between rich and poor is huge.....Wall Marts etc will cater th needs of the higher part of the society while the small businessmen will cater the needs of the lower strata.....

So you want development of other counries therw our Rich people... Our own wealth goes to hands of other wich is not indian.. Is it fair ???? Absolultly not !!!

This is time to Invent and cope up with world techanology for this we want capital this capital can be generated by well setlled class of pepole.. but as per your veiw you want to this capital distribute to other country...

This is game Playing by developed Countries.. and we are toys!!!!!!

The biggest tragedy of our country is that Govt. does have majority to pass FDI in retail in Rajya Sabha (Upper House) but the same is not there for Lokpal...well this is not reform in any sense..

THIS CONCEPT OF FDI IN RETAIL MARKET HAS TWO FACES LIKE TWO HEADS OF A COIN....

IT SOME TIMES THROWS LIKE HELPING OUR ECONOMY BY HAVING INVESTMENT BUT ON THE OTHER SIDE IT IS LIKE THROWING THE DOMESTIC VENDORS ON TO THE ROAD COZ THEY CANNOT HAVE SUCH A LARGE INVESTMENT CAPACITY NOR THE POWER TO COMPETE THE BIG SHOTS
