If I am maufacturer of handkerchiefs, my sale of handkerchiefs is 90Lacs & sale of cloth Rs90Lacs.
please let me know in this budget excise is levied at whate rate, and when a person has to get registered,
being exempted limit of 150Lacs.

You have to register when your home clearance is more than 90Lac.
Excise duty has applicable from 01.03.11 on branded cloth @ 10%

Readymade garments bearing brand name attracts 10% ED . SSI exemption of Rs.150 lakhs is available. Registration to be taken only when you cross150 lakhs.

Garments madeup textiles being Rs 1.2crore and
sale of cloth ie exempted item Rs 80 lacs
when we are eligible to apply for excise registration when
garments sale exceeds Rs 1.5 cr
or when total sales including exempted item exceeds Rs 1.5 cr
also wheather textile madeups ie handkerchiefs come under the purview
of excise being in the list of 130 items delisted from exempted products.

exempted goods not includeable in calculating turnover of 1.50 Cr. but you have to maintion exempted goods records....
when your non exempted goods turnover cross 1.50cr. than register yourself under cental excise...

Clearance of wholly exempted goods are not considered for the limit of Rs.150 lakhs. But it is includable in the limit of Rs.400 lakhs.Whether hand kerchiefs come under definition of ready made garments,matter has to be examioned in detail.
