dear sir ,
I TRIED E-FILING OF MY RETURNS FOR THE AY2012-2013 . THE PASSWORD IN IT SITE SAID WILL BE SENT BY E MAIL .
BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT TILL NOW. SINCE THE LAST DAY FOR FILING WAS 31 JULY I RAN TO A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT ON 12 TH OF JULY AND HE DID THE E-FILING FOR ME . WHEN I ASKED HIM THE PASSWORD HE SAYS HE HIMSELF DOESNOT KNOE SINCE THE INCOME TAX PERSONNEL HAS IT AND HE HAS'NT DIVULGED IT. IS HE CORRECT IN WITHHOLDING THE PASSWORD? HOW CAN I GET MY PASSWORD? PLEASE HELP

No one has the right to hold your password.Furthur you can reset your password if you forgot it.I wonder how your Auditor has E-Filed your income tax return without Pasword.

Dear Rajeshwari,
Provide the Following information and sent to Efiling Administrator validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in
1) PAN
2) Name
3) Date of Birth/Date of Incorporation
4) Father’s Name
5) Address (As per PAN registration)
You will get the password in two - three day's.

Better you try forgot password option,
----> PAN details,
Provide your pan details as,
Name - as per your pan card
DOB - as displayed in the PAN card
alternate email ID
the new password will reach u wih in 5 min

you can use the forget password utility on the income tax efiling site.
Choose the option to one (using your Efiling acknowledgement no and bank account no) to reset your password.

any one who is aware of ur pan card number,and date of bith and your father name
can reset your password,,may file return ...of course that return requires ur signature to get validated before dept.
it is very easy to reset password..

the above option by Rajesh is best one...
it is tried and tested by me.
Send a mail to Efiling Administrator at address - "validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in"
Providing the details below :-
1) PAN
2) Name
3) Date of Birth/Date of Incorporation
4) Father’s Name

when u have last year ITRV with you, then whats prob?, reset your pwd with last year aknowledgement number.

dear all ,
I tried the above solutions but the password restting goes to the email id of my previous chartered acc who is no more . I do not know how the present ca e- filed my returns. I no longer want to continue with him.is there a method by which i can change the e-mail id in the e-filing of it site. please help. thanks n regards
