Double taxation question

TDS / TCS 329 views 1 replies

Hello,

I am moving  to Canada next month on permanent resident visa. My employer (an Indian company) asked me to continue working for them from Canada. They will pay the salary  in the same way (deposit in my current salary account after deducting TDS).

Is it possible to avoid income tax payment in India and pay in Canada. For my pay, I will be paying less tax over there.

Thanks

If you settles in Canada  in May/2014, income earned from Canada will not be taxable in India as your status for AY2015-16 would be "non-resident" as far as Indian Tax Law is conserned.
