Dear Experts,

Do please let me know the GST registration process who doesnt have the VAT registration.

We didnt get any mail or message for provisional registration number.

Hi Thiru,

Are you currently liable to pay any kind of indirect taxes? Please specify and your state of opeation.

If no, then I think the current registration process is more of a migration process for existing users. During the current window it is an opportunity for dealers registered under various acts currently active.

If you want to start business/service right now, you must obtain registration under VAT or ST, whatever applicable and start operations and file for migration alongside.

If you want to start your operations later i.e. when GST is effective, you obtain fresh registration then.

I already have a SERVICE TAX REGISTRATION WITH ME. I contact the department and they said it will migarte automatically to GST and they will inform us. Is that correct or we have to take any other steps to Register.
