Confused about deducted tds

Hi,

We are involved in Cable TV Service and are registered as Pvt Ltd. I'm confused about TDS which has been deducted by one of my customer. His bill amount was 25000 one time installation, 10000 for consultancy charge & 15000 for subscripttion (quarterly). They paid 25000 & 15000 by cheque (full amount). Now when they are paying for Consultancy they are paying 6500. When I asked them they said TDS has been deducted and you can claim it afterwards.

I am new to this. Is this genuine? Also I don't have any proof that they have paid the tds as they gave only cheque. When can I get back the remaining 3500 which has been deducted and what are the formalities?

Thanks

tds can be claimed by filing income tax return. this is genuine

I need to file the return. Right? But how do I prove that the company has deducted the amount on ground of TDS?

it is reflected in your 26 AS statement. Also deductor will give you 16A certificate at the end of the quarter.

What if the deductor denies to give the same? Should there be some kind of written statement from deductor during payment?

Checck your 26AS statement online. If TDS deducted is reflected in that you will get the credit of the same ( whether you received the physical form 16A or not)

i aggree whith above experts.

Please check your 26AS. If they have deposited same amount of deducted TDS then amount will shown in your 26AS.

Thank you experts for your valuable feedback. As per your experience when shall I check the 26AS, like how long does it takes to get updated?

Installation Charges are also 10% TDS or 2%? They have charged 10% on Installation too.

after filling quarterly return by that person or any organisation.

also TDS should be 1℅ for individual/HUF & 2℅ for others,
ask your deductor to give you form 16A..it is proof that he has deducted TDS..

Don't worry sir.

I agree with all above. U can tally it with your 26AS statement. But to your sureity take form 16A from deductor. And yes to claim your your tds, you have to file your income tax return.

I agree with all above.

Dont worry sir. You can tally your tds deducted from 26AS statement online. Ask your customer to give you form 16A. That  will give you surety that tds has been genuinely deducted.

And yes you have to file your income tax return for claiming tds deducted.

Thank you all for your kind help. My client said he will give share a mail regarding the TDS deduction and certificate will be provided after they submit the same which may take upto a year.
