Tution fees paid to private coaching whether allowed under section 80c

Dear experts please clarify whether fees paid to resonance institute Rs. 92000 including service tax....will be allowed deduction u/s 80c as tuition fees or not.

No. Fees paid to private coaching class is not allowed.

The Fees paid for Private tuition(s) /Coaching Classes is not eligible for deduction u/s. 80C. The section allows deduction only if the fees is paid to the School, College, University, or other Educational Institution.

Please note that there will be no deduction available for fees paid for private tuition’s, coaching classes, for admission in professional courses or any other type of courses are not covered as that fee is not paid for FULL time education.

Yes Service Tax also on Tution fees is allowed under 80C

Services relating to Education Sector covered under Negative List Services by way of— (i) pre-school education and education up to higher secondary school or equivalent; (ii) education as a part of a curriculum for obtaining a qualification recognized by any law for the time being in force; (iii) education as a part of an approved vocational education course According to the negative list, there are three categories of education covered under this list and hence non-taxable.

Tution Fees to private coaching/ resonance institute not eligible for deduction u/s 80C.Deduction is available only if tution fees paid to any university/college/school or other educational insititution in India for the purpose of full time education and limited to tution fees paid for any two children of the individual.

DEAR SIR,

PLEASE REPLY ME, IF IN THE TUITION FEE SERVICE TAX IS ADDED IT MENS IT IS A PRIVATE INSTITUTION. AND WE KNOW THAT AS PER SEC 80C FEE PAID TO PRIVATE INSTITUTION ARE NOT ALLOWED. SO, PLEASE CLARIFY THAT.
