Hi,

We had received an intimation u/s 154 of order pass date of 18/09/14 with the following details:

1. Additional late payment interest against processing of latest corrections - Rs. 3,004/-

2. Late Filing Levy - Rs.4,400/-
3. Interest u/s 220(2) - Rs.44/-
Total -7450
This amount was paid on 17/10/2014 under penalty column -Rs.4,400/- and interest Rs.3048/-.Also TDS return revised.

Again a notice under 154 received for same quarter:

1.Interest on late payment - Rs. 3,004/-

2.Additional late payment interest against processing of latest corrections - Rs. 4,400/-

2. Late Filing Levy - Rs.4,400/-
3. Interest u/s 220(2) - Rs.192/-
Total -12000/-

Want to know why have we recieved this demand notice again after payment and revising return? It has given reference of last order dated 18/09/2014 as correction.

Do we need to file correction statement or revise the return? how to do it for TDS return?

What is Additional late payment interest against processing of latest corrections?

What should be my next step?

for making rectification you don't need to revise return, just compare the intimation with your revised return and if you find any mistake apparent from record then you can make rectification u/s 154 online. It may be due to wrong challan number or any wrong data you may have punched while revising so please examine the return critically and you will find solution, if you have still any quary for this you may right further .

1. Can it be possible that last payment on 17/10/2014 has not been updated in their system?

2. Payment has been made within 30 days for the order passed on 18/10/2014 return revised on 28/11/2014 so is this a default attracting interest u/s 220(2)?

Justification report of latest order shows the following:

Again late filing - Rs. 4,400/- ( it was paid before )

Late payment interest - Rs. 3004 and Rs. 4400
