Respected Sir,

I have filed my ITR for A.Y. 2013-2014 on 18-11-2013 and claimed refund of Rs. 4281/- which was reflected in my 26AS statement. Income Tax Department has processed return and refund has been credited to my account on 14-01-2014.

But meanwhile deductor has revised his TDS return and right now Rs. 7967/- is reflecting in my 26AS statement.

What is the remedy available for me?

Thanks & Regards,

Ramesh Purbia

no remedy available now.

since you cannot revise your return so there is nothing much to do. but in the excel utility of itr, i have seen a column "tds claimed this year". i dont know what it is meant for but i have interpreted it as such that u can claim the balance tds in next AY. if i m correct u can claim the balance tds in next it return. but before doing so please consult a ca if my interpretation is correct or not
File revised return with revised tds claim...it will step into the shoes of original return ...and submit declaration to the income tax jurisdictional officer that already this much amount is received as refund and this much s aditionally claimed again based on revised form26 AS ..and attach that form as annexure..

you can only revise the return if the original one was filed on time. Belated returns cannot be revised

A return filed under section 139(4) i.e, a belated return cannot be revised under section
139(5)
