hey guys... hope its a good day... please guide me as to which book is better?? vaitheeswaran or bangar for IDT for CA Final?

go for bangar...it is the best ever book for idt. I secured 75 by studying this

Sumit, thanks for a reply first of all... next, also tell me what should i do to secure such marks? i have not scored beyond 35 so far. :-(

concentrate on latest case laws relevant for your respective terms. It covers around 40-45% of the paper. Then go for customs practical questions as they are certain to come and are easy and scoring. Third give 100% in service tax as it is short as compared to excise and much more easy to understand. VAT part is a bonus with limited syllabus and u can score high in this part

I tried same way in nov 13 exam but landed with 30... the obe thing i did not do as per your advice was VAT portion! is there any other way??

Hi Pavitra,

I prepared IDT in this way. It might help you.

1. Completing the bangar once.

2. Completeing the recent case laws.(Covering around 30 marks)

3. All the practical questions from the bangar and complier.(Covering around 25 marks)

4. Ammendments.(Covering around 15 marks)

5. VAT.(For remainng 5 marks apart from Practical questions)

Himanshu khandelwal how long does it take to finish bangar once, coz for mw it takes days to finish that excise procedure itself!! then also I'm nit very happy with it!
