My friend receivd 10 lac rs. as p.f bcoz of death of his fathr..his fathr was working for last 25 years..my question is wats tax treatmnt of tht amt receivd by my friend..is it taxable???

since father has been in service for more than 5 years pf is exempt..even it has been received on his death so it is kind of capital receipt
