Audits are boring....

Dear Member,,,

I am an article assisstant, m on an audit,,, here i have studied all the details about the company,, got all information about thier workings,,, all i have left to do is verification,,,, but i am feeling so bored as i am alone on the audit,,, no one in this cabin,,,

plz plz give me some suggestions,,on  how to make it more efficient/useful and some entertaining also.........

THIS IS WHERE "SELF-MOTIVATION" COMES INTO PLAY.  DONT TRY TO BLAME OTHERS BY SAYING NO ONE IS IN THE CABIN. U JUST TRY TO APPLY YOUR OWN MIND IN THE GIVEN WORK . AND SURE., U WILL FIND YOUR OWN WAY.

Thanx karthik,,, i know that i should focus on my work,,,,,, believe me i do so,,,,

but i cant do that whole day,,,,, its 8 hour work,,,,

i need few suggestions to make my given work more interesting..........

YEP SURE. HAVE U CARRIED OUT THE NORMAL AUDIT PROCEDURES IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHICH TYPE OF ORGANISATION THAT UR AUDITING CURRENTLY? 

M on stat. audit of  a transport co.

Then., try and focus on areas such as TDS and Service Tax (Abatement)........... also try to report your observations in a brand new way as far as possible (instead just preparing reports by thru - cut copy paste) in excel or word ............

Dude,,, this is a transport co.,, they are exempted from TDS ,, u'll hardly get entries related to TDS,, are reporting system is predefined,, we enter our queries in the software,, so cant do any innovation...............

Oh is it so?  then ur work is more or less mechanical rather than an independent Examination of Financial statements..........No wunder u r  Bored !!!!!!!!!!!

yea,,, the co. use their own software,,, nd this software provides all kind of reports so,, i have to jst click few things,, opening balances done, bank reco. done, cash above 35000 checked,, 

ledger scrutiny of few branches done,,, ate a lot in lunch,,, me and director share same A.C.,, so he have the remote, its freezing now........ bore,, bore,, bore.............
