Can I take the Service Tax input credit without making the payment of the same (i.e. on booking) ?
Yes. You can take the Service Tax Input credit ie. Service Tax Input Credit can be availed on Accrual basis, provided that, you are going to make the payment of the Input Service within 3 months from the date of Bill, Invoice or Challan of the Input Service received.
Also refer the Amended Rule 4(7) of the Cenvat Credit Rules, 2004 for more clarifications
