CA Final recommended books

Thanks for this wonderful informative site.

I passed my Inter in 1998 and completed my articles & I took my CA Final Gr 1 in May 2002 (did not pass).  Due to some problems could not write my exams.  Now I want to write my either of the group  in May 07.  
Please advice as to which group I can prepare easily.  I'm bit worried about Gr1 because of the LAW as I'm living outside India and not sure whether there are much changes in Company LAW.  please help me decide the group & advice about the books.  I'm planning to get the books from Chennai.

Hi Jaya

Since you have already started study for 1st group in the previous attempt, I suggest You to appear for 1st group in the next attempt. You may get to capitalize upon the efforts of preparation for 1st group which you have done previously. For law purpose, you can go ahead with GK Kapoor or Bhandari.

Since you are not familiar with Indian laws, you may start with gr 1 coz gr 2 is having direct tax, indirect tax and hence more of laws are there in gr 2. For corporate law, you can go ahead with Bhandari or GK Kapoor.
