Dear Friends,
My friend is working as a retainer for wipro his salary is 11000 Rs and the TDS deducted is 1037 Rs.
Can u tell me how the TDS amount can be reduced.
Please do needful.

He have to apply to Assessing Office of Income Tax for getting Low or No TDS certificate. My opinion is that generally AO don't allow such certificate to professional.

he should declare in form 15G and hand over to employer or he can fill Form 13 to assessing officer for reducing rate and after getting the confermation folllow the answer.

form 13 is tobe filled with CCIT not with AO

Only option is apply to A.O. with form 13.

I am also working for wipro as retainer and my salary is 17000/- and TDS is 1751/-p.m. (10.3%)
can u help me how to reduce the \tds amt........

I m working for an institution as retainer and my salary is Rs.20000 p.m..
plz tell me TDS rate applicable on it and how to reduce the same.

I am working on retainership basis in acompany & also a Sr Citizen ( above 60 Yrs of age ).
Pl let me know the service tax liability & refund there of.
