What is the difference between word '' As on date" and "Up to date" in accounts?

As on date means on specific date i.e. Balance Sheet as on date of 31st March 2016 (means details available as on that date only)
upto date means period from which data has to be presented i.e. P&L A/c for the period Start from 1st April -2015 to 31st March-2016 i.e. data of 12 Months
