Cwa campus 2012

Hi Friends,

I completed cwa final this december and planning to attend the campus interview. I would like to know about the campus conducted by institute as how it will be and how v should approach, what are the expected area they will test us and how v shall prepare ourselves.

If anyone has any experience in attending campus, kindly share with me. I am going to attend campus in chennai, southern region. Anyone who has attended campus in chennai, pls do share with me.

I have attempted Campus in Kolkata and was successfull too:) but didn't tuk d offer.

If you are looking to sit for any of the PSU's like CIL, NTPC, SAIL etc,

• be very thorough with IAS on Contract/Segment Reporting.
• If you have not done it already then learn the Cost Accounting Standards(another fav area).
• Do a thorough research on Company's Peers profit/process analysis
• If u have time, go through the various case studies available on internet on that particular company and prepare some customized responses. It is extremely useful when u r asked by the panel to put up ur questions. at this point instead of asking smth vague it helps if you ask smth meaningful.

Thanks a ton Chandan for your valuable inputs. Will work on the areas u have said. I'm more interested to work in a PSU only. Any idea whether more questions are asked regarding IFRS? Other than CAS, any other area to concentrate in costing? Will there be any questions based on budget?

Variance Analysis is andr topic I missed out earlier. As far as I am aware IFRS is not given much of an importance as I wasn't asked any questions related to it neither my friends who sat for campus wre asked anything related to it.

Simple questions from Budgeting- meaning, types etc.

One more thing, they are generally very particular about taking girls who are about to be married, so  wud suggest u to have ur response ready for dis.(Based on exp of my female friends)
