Challan Correction Mechanism

(Procedure of challan correction for income tax payments made on or after 1.9.2011)

For Banks to do correction : You have to approach bank before 3 months of deposit of tax, after this period even banks cant do it 

i think you will have to

a) Write to Assessing officer to make correction sending him relavant documents and challans with covering lettter

b) if you have filed your returns then the task become more complicated where you have to revise them as well...............

You need to go to your tds ward officer, his ward boy can easily rectify these mistakes but for this you need to pay some amount to them and it depends on person to person. if you don't want to pay any amount then meet with your tds ward officer to get rectification in your challan

MY CHALLAN AMT IS BELOW 1000.00 AND I WENT 8 TIMES IN ITO, AT LAST I DEPOSITED THE AMT AGAIN.

I had got the correction done in the Ward. He did infront of me. But till now correction not update in website. Does it take 7 working days.
