Whether the compensation received by wife from husband through court is taxable under Income tax act? Amount granted is 19 lakhs. If it is exempt from the tax, under which provisions it is exempt.

It is not taxable
Lump receipt is not taxable but peridoc receipt on regular lntervals is taxable.
