01 July 2010Can we take cenvat credit on Courier charges ? If we are eligible whether we can take 100% or proportionate only?
We also providing job work under exemption notification, will it affect to take cenvat credit 100%.

Dear Mr. Yogesh,
Thanking you for your information. But till now I hage a doubt about credit on courier charges. We are in Bangalore-I commissionerate and Excise Auditors put an objection about credit on courier. Hence I request you kindly send me circular if you have.

AS PER RULE 2(L) OF CCR 2004 ANY SERVICES USED IN RELATION TO ACTIVITIES RELATING TO BUISNESS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CENVAT CREDIT UTILIZATION.
AND SO I THINK YOU CAN AVAIL THE CENVAT CREDIT ON THE BASIS OF ABOVE MENTIONED RULE
