Our company is providing transportation service to employees though hired buses and we are paying service tax for the sameon abated value. Also we are availing CENVAT Credit for the same. This practice we are following with other rent a cab services also. I just want to know whether this practice is legally correct or not.

Your procedure is right way and you paid the tax on abated value and taken the credit same.

Dear Sir,
Cenvat Credit is not allowed on Rent-A-Cab service. For detailed clarifications regarding rent a cab service, kindly read my article on the same.

from 1st april 2011, centvat credit is not allow on Rent a cab.
