Can section 8 company follow fund based accounting?

Hello all,

Can a company established for charitable purposes credit Specific Donations to Fund A/c (Under Liability) and debit the spending from the fund to the same account?( Ie, without routing income and expense through I&E A/c). If not please provide reference to the relevent provision
