What is the Difference B/W TOTAL DEPRECIATION AND ACCUMULATED DEPRECIATION?????

accumulated dep of asset means the dep accumulated in dep provision account

total dep means the dep charged on the said asset till date

i doubt if that is the diffference...

instead of reducing balance of asset a corresponding depreciation provision is created..

and total depreciation shud b the same thing...

rectify if i m wrong..
