Yes it can be done. A CA can have his own practice under his own name and also he can be a partner in any p'ship firms. So there is no bar for a individual CA to get appointed in his individual name as an auditor of a pvt ltd co.
Also in case of pvt ltd co's there is no bar for a CA in practice to accept only certain number of audits unlike in case of an public ltd co.
