Belated service tax return

Dear Friends,

Kindly help me on this big problem..I have filed the Service tax return belatedly on 30.04.2012 for the Propritorship Concern, without paying the penalty fees..I have paid the penalty on 02.05.2012, I came to know recenlty that penalty paid have to shown in the return filed..

But in the return there is a space to show the penalty paid but not to show the challan number..Even though there is a space to enter the challan number it will be like April-June, July-Sept etc....

So kindly help me how to show the challan number for the penalty paid in the return..

Incase no option to show the challan number in return means, what should I do to intimate to the service tax dept about the penalty paid..

Please help me...It's urgent plzzzzzzz............

i believe that there may not be a provision for revising belated return and you said u have already filed the return on 30th April. You have also deposited the requisite penalty. So you retain the challan towards payment of penalty for late deposition of return and when any query comes from deptt u can produce the same before them to show the compliance with law.

As long as you have paid the late fees correctly, there is not reason to file revised return. Just for including late fee a return need not be revised........

Yes. Dont worry. You wont be asked to pay any further penalty/interest. In case any demand comes, jst furnish the retained copy of challan alongwith the reply.
