umm.. i suppose since your friend just joined articles it must be after clearing ipcc... and he doesnt know bank reco? and what do you mean by practical point of view? bank reco is the same in theory and practice both... only things like consolidation are different...

Hello Friend if u are using the tally software for accounting then in bank account  select a particular month for eg march11 press enter and press F5 for recociliation and if u need cheque no in the reconcilaiton for matching then press F12 function key in that press Yes to show naration also it will be very helpful in case whre the amount is same and go on entering the bank clearing date in the reconciliation in tally after completing all the entries press yes for saving the reconciliation after that again open the particular month and press F5 reconcilation is automatically done and compare the same, whether the balance as per bank and the closing balance as per bank pass sheet is same if not tallied then check the individual figures whether u have missed any items, since some amounts were directly credited to ur bank account like ECS payments and directly deposited by the party, so in such case first enter such debits and credits in your tally account and then reconcile the same

@ divya:thanks for ur help, cos i found ppl over here making sum ones fun and insulting for their knowledge, the most aggresive insult was from CA chivang, it said tht he shud do his basics and all the stuff, i mean if u cant help dan atleast let others help...

and even sum ppl started questionin me dat even m a ca final guy or not..

i realy pity those who think in such way for me and their fellow colleagues...

Kindly read my answer first. It was the simple answer. And if you have read 11th Std commerce Text Book than you will know that it is very well explained in the book. And you dont need to refer in any other book.

I was not agressive but it was a simple answer.

Also you are in CA final. And anyone can really expect such answer from you. Even i was surprised when i saw such a question from a CA FINAL STUDENT.

I understand some of our friends over exaggerate but that does not mean it is an insult.

ca shivang as my frnd needed an opinion from many ppl, so for his sake i did this, or else i wud hav personally thot him to do it, bt it was his wish to learn frm his own as he tuk initiative to learn such stuf...

and no one is makin a hype over here, it was felt by ppl dat the vocab u used was agrsive. so ppl opposed it...
