Annual Return GST

I have sole proprietor . filing the monthly return , for the years 2018-2019 , filed nil return for all month.

Now trying to filing Annual Return, When filing return , it is showing error.

Question

1 - If I have monthly nil return for 2018-2019 , i need to file annual return ?

2.- If I have to file annual return - why this error ?

Under GST, All regular registered Tax payers must file Annual Returns in FORM GSTR9. It is mandatory.

Dear Venkatesan
As per Notification Notification 47/2019 CT , the Taxpayer whose turnover is below 2Crore are not mandatory require file Annual Return for Fy 2017-18 & Fy 2018-19.
So it's optional for you.

Iam unable open the file attached.
but kindly check whether all your nil return has been filed for the Fy .

It is mandatory to file annual return for FY 2017 -18 & FY 2018-19

Agree with Mr. Pankaj, persons have turnover below Rs.2 crore - annual return is optional. Persons having turnover less than Rs. 5 crore - GSTR 9C (audit) not mandatory.
