About articleship
Is it necessary to take prior permission of icai for transfer of articleship after completion of 1 year? Can principal give permission of transfer without with his own discretion without obtaining prior of icai by article? Assist me as soon as possible.

Hi,
You will have to submit an application seeking permission for transfer. Also principal's noc / consent letter will be required. Documentary evidence for your ground of transfer as per regulation 56.. Also suggest you to mention the ground / reason for transfer both in your application as well as principal's consent letter. Once the above documents are submitted you can expect the permission for transfer from the institute..(may take arnd 2-2.5 months). Post the permission the relevant form for transfer to be submitted.
Also it would be advisable to visit the institute and ask the procedure and the time taken to grant the permission in current scheme of things.
