21 June 2011I have filled up an ITR for an Individual Non resident. He is having income from house rent and bank interest in India. His total income gross upto 1.45lac. The TDS is Rs. 7000, which is completely claimed as refund. But in ITR while auto calculation of tax interest u/s 234C is calculated for around Rs. 16000. Please guide for this situation.

instead of using auto calculation, fill it 0 mannually........
As you mentioned total income is Rs. 1.45 Lacs only, there will be no tax at all and thus Int will also be Nil...

correct but my doubt is why it is getting calculated in ITR
