Greetings of the day to all the members of CCI Family.

First of all I would like to thank every member of CCI who read and appreciated my last 2 parts.

The link of them are given as under:

What to do after Exams ?

What to do after exams - Part - 2?

As promised here I come with the third part of my series. This part is applicable for students who have given only second group in Nov 14 examinations.

For all the other students who have missed my first two parts or who don’t fall under the above category may follow the above links.

In this article I would be discussing on the following –

a. What to be covered till results

b. Content in relation to each and every subject of first group

c. Other relevant things

So let’s start with it:

Financial Accounting –

a. First of all start with the Accounting standards (AS) in numerical order i.e. from 1 to 30.

b. Students who feel that AS 1,2,3,4,5 are not relevant from exam point of view are badly mistaken. They need to see ICAI in almost every attempt ask questions from the above AS’s in accounts as well as in auditing.

c. Now the next step would be to start with Valuation of shares simultaneously while doing AS. So the target should to complete Valuation with AS 1 to 11.

d. After doing above activity next target should be to complete AS 12 to 18 with Amalgamation.

e. After above, straightly start with Holding. Many of the students leave Holding because of the fear of its content and complexity.

f. Today with the help of this small method I hope I would be able to overcome the fear of many students.

g. Divide the holding into as many parts you like. Let’s say you have divide into 10 parts. Now your focus should be to complete 2 parts with 2 AS or 1 small chapter like EVA/GVA, etc.

h. Complete the remaining chapters on the above criteria.

i. The whole accounts needs to be done till result date.

j. The whole process should take around 15 days.

Strategic Financial Management (SFM)-

a. As we all know that as there is Holding in accounts so to compensate there is Forex in SFM. Forex is really vast as well as complex but if done with proper planning can fetch good marks in exams.

b. Divide the forex into various parts and simultaneously do chapters like Dividend, Bond, Mutual fund, Valuation of Business, Mergers & Acquisition, and Leasing with it.

c. But one thing which needs to be taken into consideration is every time you start the next part of FOREX must revise the previous parts. With the end of this your command over FOREX would be strong and all the small chapters would be over simultaneously without any ambiguity.

d. This needs to be done in SFM till results.

e. The whole process will take around 10 days.

Additional Points –

a. Now I would advise to complete either Auditing or Law in full till results.

b. It solely depends upon the students which subject he wants to complete till the result date.

c. The above given strategy is made keeping in mind the writer preparation while he gave exams in Nov’14.

d. If you think it’s not appropriate for you than its perfectly fine.

e. Students may do what they feel like.

All the very best for results.
