ICEGATE - Filing of Bill of Entry

BILL OF ENTRY UNDER ICEGATE

ICEGATE enables the Electronic filing of a Bill of Entry (declaration of import). One of the major benefits of using ICEGATE is that it provides digital security. It uses a Digital signature on the Bill of entry and other documents which are handled and processed under the ICEGATE and the customs department.

Bill of Entry is a document submitted to the customs department in the customs clearance procedure. The filing of BOE is done by an importer or by Clearing House Agent.

The importer will be able to claim ITC on goods only when the Bill of Entry for the same has been filed on or before the arrival of the goods.

After the implementation of the GST regime, the sample of Bill of Entry looks like this -
