ICAI is changing. Are you?

Hi Everyone,

At last it all finished for a while. I am talking about CA final exams and “for a while” means till results. The only thing I realized it never ever predict exam paper pattern for any subject. Don’t know how but ICAI very well knows in advance that what is running on students mind and they always set a different paper. Not difficult but unique.  Always try to complete 100% syllabus and don’t forget to refer module and RTP. This time each paper covered 10-15 marks directly from RTP and in some papers toll was around 40 marks.

Most importantly, papers and questions were not typical or not even much lengthy but they were quite different and totally based on logics. Apply simple logic and you are done.

If you asking for what type of papers it was then I would like to say

“They started up with a bang (Financial Reporting) and they ended up with a big bang (IDT)”

The two comparatively easier papers was the most difficult and lengthy ones. Rest was normal stuff of ICAI and different from what generally everyone thinks.

About self study vs. coaching

Both are equally important but only thing what remains in your mind and what comes up through your hands in exam is how much you have done it on own. Take coaching only to the extent you are not clear in concepts and repeat daily class lectures at home on own.

Once you are through with coaching classes, take up whole subject assuming that you have to start from scratch and finish it by clearing concepts on own. Any problem anywhere can be sorted out by resorting to class work.

Never depend wholly on coaching. You can never remember what other had taught to you for long but you will certainly remember what you have learned on own.

You never know how far u can go
Until you cross your limits.
And after that, they are never termed as limits any longer.

About practical subjects

Mark some questions which you feel very necessary and which covers the majority of portion on topic along with some unique questions while at coaching. It may cover around 50% of whole stuff. Try solving only these questions at next revision. Some people take up whole lot of questions directly on exam day and needless to say they just stuck in each question.  If you are through with these selected questions on own then their will certainly be an increase in your self confidence.

About theory subjects

Make summary notes and mark revisionary point on each and every topic and also refer practice manual questions while studying. The better summary you will create, the easier it would be to revise and learn during exams. This is most important for subject like ISCA. I think in ISCA remembering points would serve a lot purpose rather than cramming up whole lot of stuff.

If you think you can do it, you will certainly do it and vice versa is also possible. There is nothing typical or very technical in Finals but it is very lengthy and only option is to summarize which can be done on own, not by faculties.

If fear of failure is enough to make you learn d lesson
Actual failure is never worth off.
